Anyway, been very busy knitting away.  I am currently working on a sweater that has been ripped out (at least) four times. I am fairly confident that this one will make it through fruition.  It’s the Cable Down Raglan from the Spring 2007 Interweave Knits.  It is a beautiful sweater design with enough cables to keep your interest but not too many to drive you crazy.  The yarn I am using is from Drops – a merino blend- the color is called Petrol.  I love it, great stitch definition and very soft. 

Now that I’ve figured out how to post, perhaps I can start adding pictures.  One can only hope…

Stitch ‘n Pitch

Well, I’ve been busy keeping up with the kids and the apartments but I’ve managed to finish Andrew’s sweater:

I am currently working on the “Cobblestone Pullover” for Bobby from the Fall 2007 Interweave Knits magazine, designed by Jared Flood (www.brooklyntweed.net).  It is a great pattern for those of us who ABHOR purling.  Knit in the round and easily memorized…

Our other friends, Dan and Julie, had a baby girl a few months ago.  I decided to make her a sweater, too.  I don’t know when she will wear it given that we live in Florida and it’s like a blast furnace outside most of the year….

Right now I have a sweater for Andrew on my needles.  We are taking a trip next summer to Alaska and the plan is to make each of the kids a sweater.  We’ll see how that goes!

Anyway, now I am back to using a dp needle to hold my cable stitches.  I certainly cannot go back to the LYS again, it has been less than a week.  They WILL think I am a stalker.

I’ve finished Emily’s sweater save the embellistment flowers.  She can’t decide where she wants them but here is a picture, so far:  emilys-sweater.jpg 

I went in looking for yarn for my cousin’s future baby girl.  I know I am getting ahead of myself in the project department but I couldn’t help myself.  Here is the yarn:  Jocelyn’s Blanket Yarn.

And, here is the project that I am currently working on: Alpaca Sweater.  I bought this yarn in CO this past January during a ski trip.  We actually toured the yarn making facility and met the alpacas.  This wool is from Wild Child.  She is very sweet.

I am trying to finish the sweater for OC.  I am in the process of sewing it up.  I must say, blocking is not hard at all to do and it really does make a difference.  Here is a picture of the blocking process:  Emily’s Sweater RF.  I am very proud.
